60 Second Film Evaluation

I had decided to write down who I am, why I'm here and what I wish to achieve for my 60 second video. I had spent 10 minutes max writing out and adding colour to each card, I then recorded the video with background music coming from my computer.

I had decided to record about myself through words rather than actually recording my face as I felt more comfortable doing so and thought it would be easier not to mess up. Also, I feel it suggests something about myself, that I am creative as such. I had added the background music so that the video would be less awkward and that it would at least make the video that little bit more interesting.

I found that as my time scale was very limited, it was hard for me to add in enough personal information about myself. I had only suggested the overall goals of what i wish to achieve and I only had enough time to tell people of my name and age, nothing about who I am or my personality.

Another reason I chose not to speak was because it was easier in terms of editing. As I couldn't add any editing to the video or use any post-production, I could see that my video would have been messy and I can guarantee that there would have been parts which would have needed cutting out such as mistakes and/or there would have been many retakes. By writing down what I would have said made it easier and quicker for me to work with and if needed, I could just simply adjust what I had written if I wanted to make a change.

If I had been given the opportunity to using editing I would have made my video much more interesting and I probably would have recored myself. However, by going by the written cards, I could have added in different animated transactions for example, fading from one card to the other rather than having to have my hands being seen turning each card. I also could have added my voice over the top of the video and then add music playing quietly in the background.
